IO: “I was blown away by how diverse Gymnasty’s EP was”

After months of work, Astronomers Anonymous’ first E.P. “Yugoslavian Space Program” produced by Gymnasty is ready to be released. “Instead of speaking about the Balkans as it is, nationalism, corruption, separatism, I am offering an opposite reality where none of those problems exists”, Gymnasty, now living in The Hague but originally from Bosnia–Herzegovina, explained.

IO, known as Iona Fulton, is a British artist and DJ who after growing up near Leicester moved around the world before settling in Rotterdam. Her artist practice is centred around music, clubbing and their importance to individual and collective health.

Gymnasty

Gymnasty (Haris Belgic) is a fresh name in the merging scene of The Hague. He’s known for playing fast but funky rhythms. Haris explores the connection between slapping rhythms and an improvisational approach.

Funkyard Soundsystem

Funkyard Soundsystem has been at the heart of the Amsterdam music scene for almost ten years organizing heart felt soirees, bringing together the most preeminent artists of the genres in an ever evolving and growing scene of good music and wondrous musical aspirations.

Bobby Boycott

Born and raised with hardcore punk always playing in the background, Bobby Boycott now approaches DJ’ing from that same perspective. Expect heavy but highly danceable electronics with a hint of punk.

doo-bop

doo-bop is the co-founder of the Low G Court and Club Bizarre parties and is also resident at Operator Radio. You could describe his sets as an adventure in sounds from the past that are way ahead of their time and deserve a place on our dance floors now.

DJ Nofo

DJ Nofo is a vinyl nerd who brings you electro, breakbeat, and techno as well as other bangers and soothing ambient moments. He is Utrecht based but was born in the dreamy hills of Switzerland where he discovered electronic music.

The Last Friday Sets

On the 7th of March 2022 we hosted our closing event, The Last Friday. Mowgli, BöRK, Yopo, Marie, OG Karin, and Sjoerd off the Mountain were in charge of playing the last tracks. Expect 6-hours of music in all directions, from Italo to Techno through Breaks.

Friday TV – The Low G Court DJ Set

Since June 2021 we have teamed up with local initiatives CultureHub and FOCUS to host listening sessions. For November’s edition we invited The Low G Court.

Royal Surf Club organized a two-day stream at The Grey Space in the Middle with DJ sets, talk shows, and performative acts. We were asked to host 2-hours of the event.

For our tenth recording we have invited our friend and FOCUS Sessions founder, Toine van Mourik. Expect an hour of Jazz, Soul, Hip-Hop and Electronics.

A small music selection with low rhythms from 90 to 97 BPM, either to end the day or to warm up the day.

Every day is Friday is a platform for music, filmmaking, nightlife, and art started by Carlos Alan Eperon Beltrán.

We have hosted many cultural events with unique concepts and locations in the Netherlands, such as a 12-hour party on an old cargo ship, an 80s Miami club recreation, and a monthly film club screening projects from aspiring directors from around the world.

We also document DJ sets and concerts on our channel Friday TV as well as interviews and short reports with many artists. On the website, written content is also published regularly as well as an archive with all the creators we have worked with.

Our main goal is to promote upcoming talent in the creative scene worldwide.

Known for pushing back the limits between genres, Fillide began mixing in Ibiza in 2014 after many years of a genuine passion for discovering and sharing music. Ever since, Fillide has explored other cities like Paris, Lyon and Zagreb.
